ILLMAS Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 Just wondering if anyone else has done research for the TP when they come in and tell you, I put in a energy efficient furnance and qualifies for the energy credit? I haven't encountered this issue this year so far, but last year a client came in, brought me a copy of the invoice, the invoice was so terrible that I had her go to the unit and to write down the brand, model # and serial number. Once I had all the information, I went to the manufactures website and I could not find the unit, I called the manufacturer and was told it didn't meet the standards to be energy efficient and that it was a dicontinued model. TP wasn't happy at all, she said the tech told her it qualfied for the credit but it was not put in writing Don't you hate when this happens? MAS Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 www.energystar.gov has ALL information and requirements for the tax credit. Quote
frazzled Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 I have often searched online for the manufacturer certificate for the client and I do charge for the time. Quote
