Uncle Sam Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 For those of you who don't know - there is a new version of Form 2848 dated October 2011 that is very different than the old version. I suggest that you look at it, read the instructions and start using it. Now - there's only 1 taxpayer's name and ID# listed. So joint filers need to prepare a separate 2848. Whistleblower, PLR and FOIA issues are now permissable tax matters for POA. PTINs are now required in the Representative Area. There's now a letter "i" in the Declaration of Representative area P. 2 - for Registered Tax Return Preparers. Quote
