MAMalody Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Hmmm. My last one was 2343 hours. I hate last minute filers....well, maybe, do not truly appreciate, would be a better way to word it. Lost part of my beauty sleep and my wife tells me I really need it. Quote
joanmcq Posted October 19, 2011 Author Report Posted October 19, 2011 One year I had one like that. The client was faxing me her mother's papers (from the Bay Area) and then drove over at about 9pm to give me her own stuff while I was working on mom's. That one got filed about 11:45pm. Never again. Then I woke up this morning and my internet was out. It was working fine about 2 am when I went to sleep. How timely is that? Quote
Catherine Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I e-filed the last one first thing Monday morning after chasing down/being chased down by late clients for the last week and weekend. I am SO glad this season is done; it's going to take every second of the remaining year to clear up and gear up for next year! Quote
joanmcq Posted October 21, 2011 Author Report Posted October 21, 2011 I'm busy doing amendments for new clients that made errors on their self-prepared returns, still have one long term client that just said, I'll file late, and one who I finally got back in after she became a client because of CA levying her wages for being a non-filer. We got 2010 filed, but she couldn't find her 1098-Ts for her education credits, and there was nothing on the IRS wage & income transcripts. I even had her on my laptop in my office trying to look up her account to get the info (I went to Sac State too, I know what you could get online in 1999 and I'm sure there's even more now) but she couldn't remember her log-in. Was supposed to bring by the docs on Tuesday, but no show, no call, no nothing....and I warned her that the IRS told me an SFR was in the works. Sigh. And these people get refunds. Does not getting a chunk o' cash not matter? And then there's my new Fujitsu scanner still in the box. I want to start converting at least my no-longer-client files to paperless. If I don't, I'll never get my current client files back in the cabinets! Quote
Lion EA Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Hurricane Irene zone for me. I just received missing information from two clients. And three yet to show. Plus two completed for 2010 needing 2011 pro formas, one re taking more retricted stock before the end of the year and the other to make sure he's on track with w/h for IRS and two states. And, a couple of others missing in action that tend to bring a couple years at a time. Then I have lots of prior year returns waiting until November. Although, I go away for a week of classes in November. Quote
