bay Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Did I miss something or does the Social Security Administration no longer require w-2's, w-3 on "red paper"? Client said quickbooks stated that Soc. Sec now accepts "black ink" I guess I have to dig out the circular E that I have around my office somewhere thank you Quote
TAXBILLY Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Been filing W-2s and W-3s in black ink for years. The IRS however is picky when it comes to their red 1099s and 1096s. taxbilly Quote
cpabsd Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 They are picky on those 1099's. That's why I now e file those. Another benefit is I don't have to wonder if the taxpayer remembered to mail them. Even though the instructions are quite clear, I have a few each year who would "forget." Quote
