NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Has anyone been able to create a NE E-file with a direct deposit? I haven't received a response from ATX since yesterday. I keep getting the message the checking and savings boxes on the state form must equal the checking and savings boxes entered on the state E-file form. Restore these fields. I've done that multiple times, replace the forms and still nothing works. I know that this was a problem a few years ago, but I can't remember if I can fix it myself or not. Thanks! Bonnie Quote
mdmcfarland Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I am just now getting my first NE return ready for efiling. My FOrm 8453N does not look right - it doesn't look right. All that is on it is the basic taxpayer info and then a checklist of attachments. There is no place for signatures. Did you find this on your return? Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted January 17, 2008 Author Report Posted January 17, 2008 Yes, the 8453N is OK. They don't sign it anymore. You send attach the various forms to the 8453N and mail it in. NE says that they will give those returns priority processing. The new E-file rules are on the NE website. I'm on hold again with ATX trying to get them to fix the form. Quote
mdmcfarland Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Thanks - I guess I should have looked on the NE site. Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted January 17, 2008 Author Report Posted January 17, 2008 I just finished talking to a customer support person in KS for an hour. There is a programming error. No idea when it will be fixed. I guess I'll tell my client that she can take a paper check for NE if she can't wait. Quote
mdmcfarland Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I had another problem pop up. The file I am trying to send gets an error message : Sch C(1040) Error: IRS e-file exclusion: Name(s) and Address(es) of person who received Form 1098 must be entered. If Other Interest amount is not associated with Form 1098, paper file this return. There is no Mortgage interest on this return. I have restored the field to all lines on the corresponding worksheet to make sure there is no "hidden" numbers and that doesn't work. Anyone else have this problem? I also got the error regarding direct deposit. Guess I'll follow your thoughts and have the taxpayer receive a paper check. Hope they get this fixed before we get a rush of filers! Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted January 17, 2008 Author Report Posted January 17, 2008 They just posted a fix for the 1040N E-file that worked. I discarded the 1040N and NE EF info and replaced them. When I created the e-file, it worked. YEAAAAA! Quote
mdmcfarland Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I had checked for updates this morning, so I tried like you did and discarded the 1040N and NE Efile Info. Didn't work for me. I then again discarded these forms, closed the program, re-opened the program and again checked for updates. It worked for me also. Now all I have to figure out is the problem I have with interest reported on the Sch C. I have emailed tech support. Quote
Chrisbry Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 THanks Bonnie for troubleshooting that problem before I got there! LOL I'll be transmitting my first e-file (Fed/NE) tomorrow. My son is always my guinea pig {poor kid} Quote
mdmcfarland Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I see there was finally an update to the Schedule C - hope it was what was causing my problems. I made minor changes and e-filed a couple days ago. I got an email from tech support today in regards to my problem - a bit late! Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 I've received two acks from NE, so we're in business now. Quote
