Terry D EA Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 How do you attach a document with the tax return for e-file? Example; see broker statement. I have a guy with numerous puts and calls and want to use the bottom line totals with the description as see broker statement. Any suggestions? Quote
Kea Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 I'm not sure if you can attach to the e-file. I would probably just send it with an 8453. I'd be interested if someone knows a way to attach to e-file. Quote
cred65 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Add Form 8453, check Box on form for D-1, attach broker statement, mail to Austin TX, get a bottle of vodka! Be sure to preform in ascending order Quote
Terry D EA Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 I hear ya! I knew about the 8453 but thought there might be another way to scan and attach the doc. Oh well, somethings are just better left alone. I don't drink, although doing taxes could definitely be a reason to start, my ascending order will be sending my ascend to the beach :spaz: Quote
Crank Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 I didnt realize you could do this. I just did a return with over 50 sch D transactions. And they weren't completely broken down on the brokers statement either. Oh well, that's what additional hourly billing is for. Quote

This is under the 1040 EF tab where you can attach a file. I have never used it. Why don't be the Crash Dummy? Quote
