ILLMAS Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Just wondering how much are you paying for a gallon of gas? The lowest in my area is about $4.05 and the highest I have seen is $4.85, seriously considering going with a hybrid car. I wish I could just walk to work or hitch hike to work :) Quote

mcb39 Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 $3.89 in Central WI...I do walk to work, from the bedroom to the kitchen to the office. My Jeep (not gentle on gas) rarely leaves the garage.; other than for groceries. Quote
rfassett Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 I have to be honest and say that I have had my head buried in the sand (or tax returns, as it were), and have not paid much attention to the rise in prices. But just this morning, I did notice $3.85 (I think it was - at 5:30 in the morning my eyes are not completely open so I might have mis-read it) on the sign. I am in NW PA. I drive a four cylinder pick up truck, but my wife drives a Prius. 48 to 52 mpg sounds real good right now. And it uses the "cheap" gas. Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 I have not noticed for a couple of days - and around it here it has been changing almost every day, sometimes two times in one day. But the last I remember it was 3.659 for regular. I drive a Chevy Impala and get about 24 miles to the gallon. Quote

Terry O Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Buffalo NY area - -between $3.79 - - $3.86 gallon Quote
Lion EA Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Fairfield County, CT, my last fill-up was nearing $4 for the cheap stuff, but credit. But, I walk down the hall to my home office also, so my last fill-up was a long time ago. I've seen signs for over $4 lately. Daughter-in-law bought a used Prius to balance out the carbon footprint with my son's used Ford F-150 pick-up truck. Quote
Catherine Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 $3.69 to $3.79 here in eastern Massachusetts. Think I'm going to be doing a lot more errands on my bicycle this year. Quote
Kea Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 $3.599 for unleaded in my area of Austin. $3.799 for diesel. Car (gas) gets 35 mpg city / 40 highway. Truck (diesel) mileage not so good but needed to tow trailer. It tends to not get used much around town. I'm starting to really get interested in the plug-in hybrids. I've never spent that much on a car & don't usually buy one when they first come out. But I'm starting to consider it now! Quote
chadlonetree Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Central CA $4.19 for the cheap stuff. Quote
Monkeyman Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 $3.939 in Caribou, Maine. I drive a 1998 Dodge truck with a 5.9L V8. Yeah, I know. I have a very short commute and I never go over 30mph. Quote
kcjenkins Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Lowest is 3.45, highest 3.59 for regular unleaded. Diesel 3.75 to 3.98. Quote
joanmcq Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I think I saw it for under $4 a gallon at the ARCO station (cash or debit only for those of you not on the west coast). Over $4 everywhere else, $4.15 for name brand. I am so happy to have a commute of 'up the stairs' rather than the 32 miles I was going for my job! Quote
Yardley CPA Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Lowest I've found outside Trenton, NJ is $3.53 for regular unleaded. Quote
Catherine Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Paid $3.699 this morning, although last night (but not in _my_ car) I saw $3.659 per gallon. The place on the way home from church is the cheapest one that I go by regularly. Quote
Lion EA Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 $3.95 in the next town, but for cash, not credit. Quote
