Kea Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Client got a revised 1099 for OID interest after filing 2010 return. I thought I read a thread here earlier this year about amending a current year return before 4/18/11 that was easier. But I can't find that post now. I've always just done them the same as any other amendment. But if there is something "easy" I can do, I don't mind doing it now. (Not in 2 weeks, however!) Was it just re-filing the return but with the new info? I just don't remember. Thanks Quote
jainen Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 >>amending a current year << Use Form 1040X, but an amendment filed prior to the original due date is treated as an original return as of the due date, for statute of limitations, elections, and other purposes in which it makes a difference. Still takes months to process, though. Quote
