Pacun Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 I need some direction from the more experienced folks here. I know the employer is not allowed to withhold W-2. What I am seeking is the most expeditious route to solve this issue. Get last paycheck stub and paper file. Another way is to request a copy from the IRS, which will take some time. Quote
grandmabee Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 call the state labor bureau. why are they withholding the W-2? Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted March 27, 2011 Author Report Posted March 27, 2011 call the state labor bureau. why are they withholding the W-2? The former employee owes the employer $40. Quote
grandmabee Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 yes contact labor board of your state. Oregon is on this kind of stuff so fast. Quote
rfassett Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 You want the easiest, quickest way? Give the client $40 and send him over to the ex-employer to get his W-2. And then add $50 to your bill for your troubles. The others suggests are valid, but you asked for the most expeditious route. 1 Quote
