ljwalters Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 Has anyone ever suggested that their client try paying estimates monthly instead of quarterly and would the IRS have a problem with that? Income is mostly from alimony and then disability. Barely enough to pay living expenses, she can’t manage $450 every four months. I suggested she try to pay monthly for nine months cutting the amount down to $203. Will the IRS have a problem with that? Linda and buddy Quote
Lion EA Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 I had a client for awhile that was a headhunter and had big checks from her clients at least six times per year. She wanted to pay when she got paid. I printed up blank vouchers for her, and she sent about 40% to the feds and 5% to CT everytime she got paid. Never heard any complaints. Quote

Linda and buddy I think you are worry about how you will enter that information next year since we already know that the IRS will be happy to be paid in any way, shape, form or frequency (carried away but we get the point). If you client pays $100 every 15th of the month, next year on the estimated tax payments, you include $400 or $300 (depending on when they started) for April 15 (first payment). Quote
