GeorgeM Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I have the weirdest situation. I use Acrobat 8 Pro, and have never seen this happen. I scanned a document of 26 pages using PaperPort 12, and opened it up in Acrobat. What I do is highlight items using the select tool, and copy them to my tax return. All was going fine until I came across one page where I could not select anything and then copy. I tried to rescan the one page and the same thing happened. I have tried to look for something which could be stopping the select tool from working, but no luck. Can anyone tell me anything about this if it has happened to them. :scratch_head: Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 George, you are way ahead of me in utilizing the power of Adobe pro and I have vs 9. Sorry I can't help you but I am now intrigued enough to try to figure out what you are doing and how that helps data entry. I'll work on it and meanwhile wish you luck in figuring out this problem. GeorgeM Posted March 16, 2011 Author Report Posted March 16, 2011 George, you are way ahead of me in utilizing the power of Adobe pro and I have vs 9. Sorry I can't help you but I am now intrigued enough to try to figure out what you are doing and how that helps data entry. I'll work on it and meanwhile wish you luck in figuring out this problem. What I do is as follows: I scan all clients documents with PaperPort. If there are any stock sales, I bring up the sheets in Acrobat, then I select the stock name and right click and copy. Then paste it into the sheet for sales of stock. It saves me the time of typing the names in. Then i use the line tool to mark the item so I know I did that item. I also view all documents in Acrobat, to me it seems easier than going through the papers. I also use the line tool to mark the entry as entered. This works for me, don't know if it will work for you. Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Thanks, I don't know if it will work, either, because I haven't tried it. Somehow I never got around to actually learning how to use this great program. Now that the majority of my clients send me their data electronically or fax (which is now also electronic), I guess I better get my rear in gear and use what I have available. Thanks, I'll try it this week! Quote
