Jack from Ohio Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 I have reached the point where I am going to require all my clients to sign an engagemant letter. With the added scrutiny I will be under, I want something signed by my clients that states that the information they have provided for the preparation of their return is complete, accurate and that all information has been provided. Contact me through the message center here or send me an e-mail. Thanks.... Quote
michaelmars Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 There is one in the organizer that i modify but its pretty good as a basic template for tax work. Quote
TaxCPANY Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 I reached Jack's point after reading a lot of posts in the TaxTalk group (Yahoo Groups) about Circular 230's revisions, a few years ago; and I agree with michaelmars that ATX's standard engagement letter needs only some tweaking. Good templates are widely available online, from insurers such as Camico and that accountants' insurer formerly a cooperative whose name I can't recall, tonight. TaxTalk's participants also provided valuable advice regarding the Service's recent FBAR initiative -- condensed into just a paragraph or two worth incorporating into engagement letters.
