GeneInAlabama Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 How do you reply to a topic on this new board? I tried to reply to one and all I did was quote the original response. I couldn't find a way to respond. What am I doing wrong? I really do like this board, just need to learn how to use it. I really appreciate the effort that was made in setting up this board. I really felt lost when the other board was shut down. I haven't responded very often in the past, but I read the postings often. I'll try to do better in the future. Quote
mcb39 Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 What I do, correct or not, is click reply which brings up the prior post. I then highlight and delete the prior post and type in the same box. ;) Quote
Eric Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 The quote shows that you are replying to that specific post. If you just want to make a general reply in the thread rather than to a specific comment, you can do what mchampine said above, or you can scroll to the bottom and use the Fast Reply or Add Reply buttons. Here's what they look like: More about those buttons here: http://www.atxcommunity.com/index.php?showtopic=43 Quote
GeneInAlabama Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 Thank you Marilyn. If this gets posted, then I'll know it works. Quote
GeneInAlabama Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 Thanks erc. You replied while I was replying to Marilyn. I made a copy of your answer and will keep it handy for future reference. I am already beginning to feel like a pro. Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 This is great! I think once I learn to use it, I will like this message board even better than the new and improved one we no longer have! I hope ATX didn't spend a whole lot upgrading a board they were just using to jerk us around with! THanks, ERC, for setting this one up! Quote
TAXBILLY Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 I find this board much easier to use than the now defunct ATX Community one. Good job erc! taxbilly Quote
