Janitor Bob Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 I received my annual renewal notice for my E & O insurance through Norman-Spencer. I currently pay $185.00/year for a police that covers $10,000/occurrence, $20,000 aggregate, Disciplinary Proceedings I would like to lower my cost and/or increase my coverage. How does this compare to what you folks have? Can you give me name, phone number, web site of your insurance company? Thanks, Quote
Lion EA Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 I went with the new policy NAEA put together for their members, but I pay a lot more than you, for greater coverage. I let my old policy underwritten by Aon expire, because it cost even more. Found my actual numbers. Pretty inexpensive. See details under the Poll. Quote

Thanks, For a minute I thought you had a police to defend you in case someone was after you or your money. I would like to know the percentage of preparers on this board that use insurance. Maybe a little poll and how much they pay would be nice. Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 I have AON insurance and pay roughly $780 for $2,000,000 coverage. Quote

For protection I have my neighbor Irv...he tells me he is a third level master of the garden hose....I'm not sure what that means, but its nice to know he has my back The poll is a great idea...any idea how to make one? jklcpa Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Aon through AICPA, mine is $490 for $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate. Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Wow! I have Aon through AICPA and pay $451 for $100,000/$250,000. To increase to $250k/$500k would cost $636. How is it, I wonder, that your premium is so much less? Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I have no idea. I have had this insurance for almost 20 years. Quote
Robin Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 I pay $420/yr for $100,000/$300,000 w/ $1,000 deductible (Philadelphia Insurance Companies). The interesting thing was it went up $120 from my first yr with them (no claims). Not sure if I got a "teaser" rate the first year. I left EZ Insurance Solutions 2 yrs ago after receiving a renewal for $540 for less coverage vs. Philadelphia's amount of $300. Robin Quote
joanmcq Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 How much you are charged depends on what type of work you do as well as the amount of coverage. If you do financial statements, its more. If you use engagement letters, I think you get a discount. Etc, etc. Quote
