jrollo Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 TP received an EIN for a new business started in 2010 and planned on becoming a Limited Liability Company, However, he never completed the correct paperwork, and decided to operate as a sole proprietor. My question is may I use the EIN number on his Schedule C? Thank you, Jeff Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 For federal purposes, a Single Member LLC is a disregarded entity. Had he become an LLC, would he have filed as a sole proprietor and used a schedule C? Quote
jrollo Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Posted January 31, 2011 Gail: Yes to both. If he had became an LLC he would have filed as a sole proprietor and used schedule C. Quote
