Direct Deposit (in someone else Account)?

Taxpayer can't open bank account and needs money yesterday. Can she have her refund direct deposited to anybody's bank accoun?... Friend, brother, mom ...hey maybe me? (just kidding)

It depends on the bank. Some will reject an incoming deposit if the names don't match. Some will take incoming money going solely by routing and account numbers. Check with the bank.

I generally just tell clients no, because it varies by bank. I've seen success with Bank of America, but that was last year and this is this year, so who knows if the rules have changed.
