ILLMAS Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Here is a sample letter to use if your client wishes not to efile his/her tax return for whatever reason. The IRS is going to be doing more compliance checks, so it's a good idea to have something in your files. MASSCAN5586_000.pdf Quote
grandmabee Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 there is a special form you fill out and mail with the paper filed return. I am not at my office and don't remember the form number right now. it is new this year Quote
Terry D EA Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 It is form number 8948 which is still in draft form. I do like the cover letter as well. Don't think you can overkill CYA on compliance issues. I know I use a client interview form that asks all the due diligence for EITC which I require the client to sign prior to preparing the return. Stays in their file with the 8867. Here is a link to the draft form: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/f8948--dft.pdf Quote
