Pacun Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Usually, in December, I receive a letter from the IRS stating that I can continue efiling. This year, I have not received such letter. Has anyone received it or we have to renew? Quote

Has anyone received it or we have to renew? Pacun, I believe the IRS will no longer send those letters. As long as you efiled one return the previous year you should be good to go. I think this is what was said previously. Eli Quote

mcb39 Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 You can check it on the Website and I did just that after receiving an email from IRS a couple of months ago. You can even go so far as to print the last page of your application form which shows you as accepted; just in case you are nervous about it. They will no longer be sending out the yearly letter. BulldogTom Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 It seems like a lot of you are registered for E-services with IRS. I have not because I just don't want to go through another hassle of setting up ANOTHER account, probably with a password, only to get spammed every day with a bunch of crap. Is e-services worth the hassle? I would like my letter, but that is the only reason so far that I would need to register for e-services. Anyone who would like to share their experiences? Eli Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Tom, it's another PIA I went in to try it and it keeps telling me I either got married & didn't change my name or my AGI from last year is not correct. I guess it's not worth the hassle. Eli Quote
Howard Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Even though I downloaded yesterday afternoon's newest EIC Form which ATX says is the final approved version, why am I unable to create my Federal Efile, listing that form as unapproved? I looked this morning, but there is no newer form, and I even replaced my existing EIC form with the new one. Quote
