Scanner & copier security

This was on another listserv. I am one of the 60% that did not know this and am glad that I have not yet disposed of any copier or scanner.

I think we all need to think about this in future, before we sell or trade any copier or scanner that we have used in our business. Imagine if one of those had come from a large H&R office? I no longer use a copier, just printers and scanners, but I will not sell any old machine without having the hard drive erased or removed. And the 'erase' will be a full security erase, not just a 'delete files' but a full erase followed by reformating the drive.
