Kathi Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I use ATX for 1099 printing and e-filing only. I have a couple of clients who have not given me all the information for one of their 1099 recipients, yet they have many more with correct information. If I duplicate the return, delete the incomplete record from the original return, and e-file, will I be able later (albeit, late) to e-file an amended return? Will the program let me? And, do I only send the additional recipient? Or send the whole batch again? Thanks for your time in advance! Kathi Quote
kcjenkins Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I think you will have to paper file the one late one. But you can efile the others now, then you just do only the new one when you file it. Quote

Lion EA Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 You have an extra month for e-filing. Only the paper filed were due Monday. That buys your client some time to get more info to you. Quote

I am so embarrassed! This is something I should have known. I knew I had till 3/31 to submit W2s, but I never thought about 1099s. THANK YOU!!!! Quote
Lion EA Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I think that's the date! I actually paper filed for one client this year. So, didn't confirm the e-file date. Better check. Quote
