I just found out that IT-272 do not carry education credit to IT-201 line 68 eventhough the form is there and credit is calculated. This started sometime 4 days ago.

Does any one else noticed this? or this is just me. I got about 7 returns efiled with the form but without the credit included in it. I hope NY will calculate and add to the refund if not then i have to amend all these.

Please let me know.

TIA.

Mine is working OK, BUT I have noticed a quirk with the W-2.

Program carries over the info from last year's W-2, but the state box is blank.

Picked up on it when I noticed the State return refund/amount owed varied tremendously from the prior year.

Only the last W-2 in the client's records have the blank entry, and not all of them; but today there were 2.

What's up with this?

Yes the w-2 thing started with todays update. it brings the state name to the 3rd or 4th box down. but it is visible to just delete and retype it.

But this credit not carry forword to IT-201. I have IT-272 in return and did show as efiled forms list but the amount is not listed in all 7 cases i efiled. So I hope NY apply the credit in the refund. if not then i have to amend all.

The new return i did today, i even delete and add new 201 and new 272 but same problem. Don't know what to do. May be call tomorrow to help desk and see what happens.

Just to make sure that no one else has this problem.

Thanks,

These were returns in which the credit was more beneficial that the deduction, right? If the deduction were more beneficial the IT-272 results would flow to the itemized worksheet on page 2 of the IT-201 and nothing would show up on the IT-272 credit line on page 4.
