Terry O Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 I know this has been mentioned before, but does a licensed and accredited Cosmetology school qualify for the Education Credit? Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 I think the rule of thumb I remember reading is that if the school qualifies for federal financial aid (such as Pell grants, etc.) then the tuition and fees qualify for the education credit. Quote
TAXBILLY Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 When in doubt, read the directions: An eligible educational institution is any college, university, vocational school, or other postsecondary educational institution eligible to participate in a student aid program administered by the U.S. Department of Education. It includes virtually all accredited public, nonprofit, and proprietary (privately owned profit-making) postsecondary institutions. The educational institution should be able to tell you if it is an eligible institution. taxbilly Quote
