Ray in Ohio Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 I have never e-filed the partnership Form 1065. What signature form is required? Do most of you e-file these returns? I used to only do a few, but every year I pick up some more and it would be so much easier just to e-file them. Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated. Thank you! (Going on vacation tomorrow!!! wooohooo) Yeah, I'll have to make up for lost time when we get back in 10 days. Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 I haven't done one this year, but it isn't really any different than e-filing personal returns. I think the signature form is 8879-P, and I believe you do have to be signed up with the IRS for filing business returns. Other than that, everything is the same. Quote
mcb39 Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 You do have to be registered with the IRS as an ERO for business forms, which is easy to do online, where you can edit your ERO application if need be. Also, I found out in prior years after several failed attempts, that you do have to have an EIN # to enter onto the Partnership E-file Return. Otherwise, it works the same as any other. In prior years, I did have to paper file the state return; but this year, I believe, WI is going to allow them to be filed electronically. Quote
