First Return Done!

Well did my first return and ready to e-file but think I will

wait to hear if anyone else has a problem e-filing first.

Have 3 more appointment this afternoon. I think this is going

to be a great season. I really like the new auto update feature.

I'm still in the throes of W-2's and 1099's and haven't tackled any 1040 returns yet.

Off to a fast start here as well. I completed my first return on 1/6/10 - an accounting client who had all his deduction info together, so when I prepared W-2's for his company I just ran his 1040 at the same time. He signed and mailed it in the next day. Now we're interested in seeing how long it takes for his direct deposit to show up in his checking account

I just efiled my first, also. Will be interesting to see how long it takes IRS to get up to speed. I've never known them not to have some 'teething problems' at the start.

I can't believe people have all their info already. I don't have mine and I do our return first just to shake the dust off the brain cells and try to make all my mistakes before my clients appear. MM

I'm still working on 2008 and prior year returns that people brought in and a fiscal year 990 on extension. One partnership brought me their 2009 stuff, but those older ones are ahead of it.

For some reason I thought E-file was not available until 15 January ------oh, that is today, isn't it? Boy, it is too early in the season to be at this point already. Jeez, guess I will have to take the weekend off. Hmmmm, I wonder how that will work out.

I set up a 1040 to efile and the w-2 was not approved as yet. I checked and I am not showing an update to the w-2.

Go to the W-2 form, right-click on it, and it should show you a menu that has the version you have at the bottom of the menu. Should be version = 44
