jainen Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 >>Tax Prep Fees Average $229<< Awesome! According to that there survey, us Californians (with our colleagues in OR and HI) are worth at least 15% more than any of you other guys! Up to 113% more! (Our AK and WA colleagues don't do state returns, so they are either bringing down everyone's pay rate or they are cheating their clients.) By the way, does anybody know any of those 40% of all preparers who won't even get into a return until they see the cash? I'd like some tips on implementing that procedure, but I've never even heard of it before. Quote
jainen Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 >>implementing that procedure<< So, what I'm thinking of doing is sending out organizers with a preliminary invoice for last year's amount. Then I will guarantee that if they send all documents and the preliminary fee by mid-February I'll have the return ready for timely filing no later than October 1st. Quote
bstaxes Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Jainen, I like your business concept. Let me know how it works and maybe next year I will try it. Although I don't like working in the summer. I thought about charging everyone $500.00 to start with and if their return is less I would refund the money. Yeah that will work. Quote
