New Rule for paper 1099s

Here's the new option. Give the need to help clients protect against ID theft, it's something you need to read if you print and file any paper 1099s.

Thanks KC, this will be helpful information for me. I am one who paper files a few 1099 MISC because of clients who have employess with bogus SS numbers. Can't e-file them.

Does anyone know how to truncate the SS# on the Payee copy in ATX?

The way I read KC's attachment is that you CAN truncate the first five digits, but you DON'T have to.
