cred65 Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 Is there a better way to obtain lost tax documents other than Form 4506-T? I have two clients that are very ill and cant find records. TIA Quote
TaxmannEA Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 If youi are registered for E-Services and have a POA you can get the return transcripts, W-2 and 1099 info, etc. online. It's a lot faster than the form. There will not be any information about state withholding and the like, but that's true with 4506 as well. Quote
ed_accountant Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 Have client sign form 2848, fax to IRS and then call the IRS tax practitioners hotline to request the Wage and Income report on client... Quote
