taxguy057 Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 I have a client who is a nursing asst. paid by check every month by a Medical Services company. Her income is shown on Form 1099 MISC, but not listed in box 7 (nonemployee compensation) it is listed in box 6 (medical and healthcare pmts).... Could this be an error or correct being that the rules state if a company is paying a physician or other supplier or provider of medical or healthcare services over 600.00 use block 6. The amount was well over 600.00. (54,000 to be exact) Just doesnt seem right...feels like should be in block 7 since amt so high...... Does anybody have insight on this type of payment???? :scratch_head: Quote
Wayne Brasch Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 taxguy057, I would enter this amount from box 6 on Schedule C just as I would if it had been listed in box 7. I see no difference at all. Wayne Brasch Quote

PaulH Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 You need to "send it" to Schedule C from the drop-down box below the 1099 Box 6, rather than "pull it" from the Schedule C. Quote
BulldogTom Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 I have a client who gets these also. Right under the amount on the 1099 Input screen is a drop down that will list your schedule C if it is already in the return. Click it and everything will flow to the right place. Treat it like any other 1099 Misc. Tom Lodi, CA Quote
