ILLMAS Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Does anyone remember the motivational speaker Matt Foley "I live in a van down by the river" played by Chris Farley? My client is the real Matt Foley and was good friends with Chris Farley. Fr. Foley will be leaving to Iraq to serve as a chaplain in a couple of days, he has finished his military training and is ready to go. I have included a link to a video of him, please keep in him your prayers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDICmcxrIEM Marco Quote
Lion EA Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 My prayers are with him. Our current priest was an army chaplain for many, many years and continued in the National Guard for more years until retirement. Quote
BulldogTom Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 May God bless him and keep him safe. It is cool to see young men answering the call of God and country at the same time. Was he really the inspiration for that Chris Farley skit. That was one hillarious joke. I never imagined there could really be someone behind that. Tom Lodi, CA Quote

joans Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 My husband is in Iraq right now working as a carpenter for the troops. The conditions are rough, but he likes what he is doing for our troops. There are a lot of great things going on over there, but you never hear about it on the news. Things have improved immensely, even since he arrived in Sept. He will be home again in May for 2 weeks. Looking forward to it. Also, my prayers are with all the people there - military & civilian. Sara Quote
