Don't know, but that is an interesting question. If you can file an extension electronically with a payment why not an estimated form with payment? It would save last minute runs to the post office and at the same time give preparers more work. I am not sure if I would like to be responsible for the clients estimated payments getting to the government on time.

Well, that worked just fine. I love it when that happens. And, the link was just the first one I spotted on the IRS site, one about the telephone tax refund, I think; so you don't need to click on it re this thread's topic. Hope I didn't confuse anyone. Just wanted to test inserting a link in a post. Hope you all had a great long weekend.

Yes you can file form 1040-ES electronically. You make the payment with a credit card. The website will send you a confirmation which you can printout on your system.

You also can make State estimates electronically.
