I have a client who, according to the IRS refund cycle chart, should have had her refund direct deposited on Friday 02/20. She received her Ohio state refund, but not her federal. I went on-line to the IRS "where's My Refund" page and entered her info.....It states "your return has been received and is being processed. Your refund should arrive on March 3rd".....Two weeks late?!

She was not affected by the recovery rebate credit dalays...but she did have EIC...are any of you experiencing such delays?

...Of course...I have done something wrong to cause the delay!

Well, you _did_. You believed the chart. Silly Janitor Bob! No biscuit! ;)

You could tell folks "it could come no earlier than" with those dates. Then they'd think you did something _wonderful_ to get the earliest date! Silly tricks we have to play to keep from getting blamed for stuff outside our control....

I have the exact same problem with a client. However, my client does not have EIC. It is a simple return, W-2's, Sch A with education and child tax credits. They are not blaming me but did call to ask for an explanation of the delay.

Yes, Bob, they were coming through really fast at first, even earlier than the dates on the chart. Now, for the past two weeks, there doesn't seem to be any set pattern and a lot of them are coming in a week or two later than anticipated. I am no longer telling them to expect it by the chart date. (Of course, most of them are afraid that the IRS is running out of money!) I doubt that you are doing anything wrong.

I have one that should have had her refund February 6th. IRS is finally showing Mar. 3. They claim a mistake was made on the return, but I have double checked and I don't see it. It did have the recovery rebate credit and EIC but I used the figure off of their website for the amount of the stimulus payment she received on 08. So I cannot seen the error.
