IRS states: "Property must be put in place before Dec. 31, 2007 and b/w Jan. 1,2009 and Dec. 31, 2009 and any expenses in 2008 not covered." WTF kind of since does that make? Why put that in the books for 2008 and cant be used unless you do in 2009 but had to be in house after 2007? Please clairfy so i can stop BEATING MY HEAD ON THE DESK!!!! Taxguy... PS: Reason concerned is that I have a client who just replaced all windows in house with energy efficients... Quote

I would speculate they put it in there because people are bound to ask "Where the heck did the energy credits go?" What is that IRS quote from anyway? Anyway, it was not extended for 2008 but is for 2009. So 2008 is a bad year to replace windows in... See if they can return them and buy them again in 2009? (kidding!) Quote
