TonyP Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Still, waiting, last week they (ATX) said it will be out by February 16th. IRS had this Form approved for efile last month (in January). Now I have five returns with an 1116 wating for approval; I can't even get the from to paper-file the tax return. What's going/not going on within ATX??? I wish we had the old-ATX. Quote
kcjenkins Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 I have the 'draft' form installed, so if I had to file one today, I'd use that to calculate, then I'd go to the IRS site, and fill out and print the form, and paper file. Now ideal, I agree, but workable. Quote
B. Jani Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 I had mutual fund on broker statement and had foreign tax paid $4. when i put this in 1099, ATX opened up 1116 and you are correct that it is in draft mode. so i deleted and filed it. I do not know your situation, but for $4, i do not want to hold up the return for unknown time. Quote
TAXBILLY Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 An 1116 is not required if the tax is 300 or less (600 if MFJ) and you meet certain other conditions. taxbilly Quote
