Janitor Bob Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Where did the windows go for the 5695? It is still in my 1040 Express Answers book. No allowance for windows and other such energy efficient improvements installed in 2008...was good for 2007 installs..and will be good for 2009 installs...but not 2008. Quote

Bart Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 When did they change it? My 1040 Express Answers still has the deduction in it. Boy that sound like my luck. The first year we had the child tax credt my youngest was 17. I just wondered when it was taken out of the tax law. It expired and just was not extended and was brought back for 2009. I was also in the situation where my youngest turned 17 the first year of the child tax credit. Quote
joans Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Client not going to be happy. Had $8000 worth of windows installed and no credit. Quote
mcb39 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Client not going to be happy. Had $8000 worth of windows installed and no credit. But the current maximum credit was $500. The new maximum credit will cap at $1500 for 2009 and 2010 and the credit goes from 10% to 30%. You will not have to count the pre-2008 credit toward the new $1500. Quote
