joelgilb Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 have a CA client that is now making a payroll to himself from his corp. Does anyone know how to file the CA W-2's ATX will create the CA.asc file for e-file, just like for the Federal that needs to be efiled with Social Security, but I don't know what if anything I need to do with this. And if I can't file electronically, how do you file the W-2's (and what forms) with CA? Also, just want to double check. I believe the other returns CA requires are as follows: DE6 DE7 DE88 ( for deposits) Quote
BulldogTom Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 CA does not have a separate W2 filing requirement. You have the rest correct. DE6 quarterly and DE7 annually. Tom Lodi, cA Quote

Tom Lodi, cA Thx Tom Sort of thought that but the ATX software threw me for a loop Any Idea why ATX software has a seperate efile option and creates a separate asc file for efile then? Quote
BulldogTom Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 No clue. I don't efile W2's or 1099's so I don't even look at those screens. Just print and mail. I am so 1980's that way. Tom Lodi, CA Quote
tilt Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Don't forget the quarterly DE88 too. Quote
