MontanaEA Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 What the heck is going on? I signed up for fee collect thinking this was something I could use on an as-needed basis. I just filed my first return for the year (NOT a fee collect return), and was notified that a trasmitter fee 0f $10 fee is now charged toi my EFIN. I called ATX - they didn't know anything. They told me to call SBBT. I called them - they told me it was a fee for transmitting a piggy-backed state tax return and would be charged on every return I e-file!!!!! Holy cow - what a rude surprise!!!!!! Quote
Teri2414 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 If you're not using a bank product there shouldn't be a fee of any kind from SBBT Quote

Holy cow - what a rude surprise!!!!!! That transmitter fee is paid to ATX, not SBBT. ATX is pulling your leg that they don't know what is going on. Call and raise some you know what with them. Tell them to pull you out of their fee collect program if they won't fix the problem. Talk to sales and get a supervisor on the line. This is simply larceny on the part of ATX. Tom Lodi, CA Quote
Teri2414 Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Last season ATX did charge me an initial $10 fee - but it was only the one time on enrollment...this season when I signed up for FeeCollect it listed an inital fee - but it was never taken out my account or billed to me - after the enrollment was approved and finalized that fee was no longer listed. I think, depending on who you talk to in support, they get confused and don't realize that FeeCollect is not really to be considered a bank product. Quote
MontanaEA Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 Yesterday, ATX told me to contact SBBT. After hours on hold, SBBT told me it was a fee for transmitting a state return, and would be charged on every state return, whether fee collect had been requested or not. Of course this makes absolutely no sense, but I could not get thru to anybody who knew anything or could correct the situation. After being passed around to three different extensions, then back to the first, then disconnected, I asked to be disenrolled from fee collect. SBBT told me to call ATX for that. I was on hold for an hour, gave up and went home. This morning, I am back on hold with ATX as I write this. I'll let you know how it turns out. Quote
