TAXMAN Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I must be having a bad hair day. On the client cover sheet I want it to read "federal and State. How do I change it in the masters file? Help Many thanks Quote
JohnH Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Click on "Foms", then "Customize Master Forms" Call up the Client Letter Go to "Return Cover Sheet" tab Modify the appropriate line (s). Go to "Returns" and choose "Save Master", then "Close Masters". (This field could not be changed in the earlier versions of this year's program, but they opened it up about a week ago after some of us complained. So you'll need to be sure you've updated - otherwise it won't work) Quote
Maura Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Open master forms look for client letters choose the tab "return cover sheet" add the word State. If the return has already been rolled over you will have to delete client letter Fed and then load it again from within the return. Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Yes, I've always modified my cover sheet to include both, as I don't want to waste a page just for a second cover sheet for the state return. Quote
Randall Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 I just do it on the individual return. Choose option for combining Fed and state. Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 We're not talking about combining the LETTERS, we are talking about editing the COVER SHEET that fronts the client copies, so that we can use just one cover sheet, which says "Federal & State Tax Returns" rather than use the standard, which is a separate cover sheet for the federal copies and for the state copies. GeneInAlabama Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 I just delete the word "FEDERAL". This leaves just "INCOME TAX RETURN" which I think anyone would assume means federal and state. Quote
kcjenkins Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 Should be Returns, if includes the fed and state. Quote
GeneInAlabama Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Should be Returns, if includes the fed and state. Right! I hadn't noticed that. Quote
