Yrags Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 Whenever I print a return to pdf, the resultant file shows both bookmarks and the page. This is fine if I then want to print it, but for emailing I have to change the preferences to show Page Only. Is there any way to get ATX to print to pdf so that it shows Page Only by default? Not really a big deal, but eliminating these few steps for multiple returns in a row would be an efficient time saver. Thanks. Quote
Abby Normal Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 There's a Print Preference in ATX to add bookmarks to the PDF, but I whether the bookmarks show on opening a PDF, is a setting in whichever PDF viewer you're using (Adobe, Foxit, etc.). 1 Quote

Thanks. Tried that. When unchecked, the pdf still has the bookmarks pane, just with no bookmarks in it. Quote
Abby Normal Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 That's because your PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe) options are set to open bookmarks by default. Change that setting. 1 Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 I'm glad for this bookmark discussion and want to learn how to do this. New client has a return with 4 states and 2 locals and about 150 pages total including statements and data fields. His previous returns are nicely bookmarked by state, statements, etc. I printed to Adobe and see the option for bookmarks (I had checked this in ATX), but don't know how to create them. Any easy way to do this? Client is in New Zealand for a month so I have time to create it, just don't know how. Thanks for any help! 1 Quote
