Your State submission does not match the latest published FTB Schema or is not well formed.

You must contact your software provider to resolve this error.

Contacted that worthless department and they said they don't know nothin'.   But they sent us an email telling us the case is resolved, even though the issue still persists.

Worthless, useless, on hold forever non-support group!

I will go take a nap now.   Before Judy kicks me off the board for bad language.

Have you checked to make sure you have the latest version of the form in question?

Yep or I assume yep.   We allow it to update every time we open.  There is nothing on the reject to say which form could be causing the problem.

Tom, I don't know the CA forms. Does the return include form 568?
I googled the error code and found the following is KB from CCH Support Site. The KB is undated though, so not sure if this will help:

Here's the whole text, including a resolution, if you don't want to click:

Resolution

This can occur when the Principal Business Activity (PBA) Code is invalid.

To resolve the error, do the following:

Go to form CA 568.

Select the Data tab.

In the PBA code field, verify that the code entered is correct and make any necessary adjustments.

Click Save.

For assistance locating the correct PBA Code, see NAICS Identification Tools or contact the taxpayer.

Nope.   They are simple 540 W2 no itemized no credits.   1 had health insurance responsibility penalty..   Sent at the same time as the Federal which accepted with no issue.   About 8 - 12 hours earlier we sent one just like it and accepted in about an hour.   Not sure what changed in half a day.

Hi, Same issue on a CA individual tax return. Tried updating forms and file again but same error message. It accepted my prior files but today rejected. Must have updated a form and it isn’t in the acceptable format.

Okay, it accepted on third try. there was a dash on one of the state id numbers entered. Removed the dash and it accepted it. Guess it doesn't show up on the check return.
