Corduroy Frog Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 Just e-filed my first return last night and received the ack back today. Smooth as silk. Nothing requiring authentication. I was expecting to receive a six-digit (or more) thing to enter for authentication, but did not. Is Drake handling the authentication at their transmission level?? Quote

Is Drake handling the authentication at their transmission level?? It has nothing to do with transmission or e-file. It is to access the program itself at login with a popup box that appears right after entering your password. If it doesn't appear, then you have disabled (or not enabled) the MFA function within the program. If you want to check this or see where to change your preference, go to the "Setup" menu at top and then click on "Preparers and Users". Open the Admin user and look for this checkbox shown below. Mine checkbox says disable because I have MFA enabled, but if yours is disabled then the label on the checkbox would change and say enable. 1 Quote
mcb39 Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 Apparently, ATX has trashed the whole double authentication thing. Nice, after we spent mega pages and time trying to figure out and help each other with how to do it. 1 Quote
Corduroy Frog Posted February 3 Author Report Posted February 3 Thank you Judy. I'm one of those people who don't use a smart phone so I can't snap that crazy-looking rectangle. I'll call Drake tomorrow. But thanks for your very detailed step-by-step instructions.  Quote
jklcpa Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 There's also a topic here on this site that explains how you can put an authenticator on your desktop and do not need a smartphone. 1 Quote
jklcpa Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 This is topic. It is for ATX but the process should be similar in Drake. Â Â Quote

Thanks to all Quote
Corduroy Frog Posted February 4 Author Report Posted February 4 Talked to Drake again this morning. Their response was "You must have a smart phone to obtain the authentication feature. We don't have an alternative and we're not going to have one." Very bad.... 1 Quote
