Margaret CPA in OH Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 So about 30 minutes ago, 8am here, I submitted the most basic of returns. W-2 income only. It was rejected as Form 1040 was not being accepted. Was I wrong in thinking efiling was open today? Quote
jklcpa Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Yes, it was supposed to open at 9am ET today. 1 Quote
Tax Prep by Deb Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 I e-filed thru Drake and already accepted. 1 Quote
GLJEANNE Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Oy, that's frustrating. I'm not planning to efile anything today; a couple years ago I filed on day one, and both returns were stuck for around 6 weeks! Quote
Lion EA Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 I just e-file two 2023 -- yes late 2023 -- returns. First one acknowledged so far. I'd prepared them during the shut-down, so they aren't the latest versions of my software. I didn't know if they'd be accepted or if I'd have to recalculate and try again. I never try current tax year returns the first day. Seldom are all forms/schedules ready. Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted January 27 Author Report Posted January 27 Yep, I didn't pay attention to the time, just trying to get it out before my gym class. Sent again and received another message - Thank you for using e-File. I hope that doesn't appear with every return. Quote
mcb39 Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 My understanding is that e-file opens on the 29th of January. Quote
