Dan Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 Problems with printing 1099 misc., 1096, and W-2 When I print out on the preprinted form 1096, I can't get the left margin to go left far enough in the print alignment box. My X in the 1099-Misc box is not centered. The problem I see is that there is no minus when you click left on the left margin. It only goes to zero. I am using an HP Officejet Pro L7780 all-in-one. Another problem is that it pushes out a blank page then a copy; another blank page and then a copy when it prints. Why is this happening? How have you fixed problems in printing the above forms? Lion EA Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 Haven't tried to print those forms in this ATX, so won't try to answer most of your questions. But, as to the blank page, I think your adjusting has moved something (probably blank space so not obvious on the screen) to a new page per your margins or per the print area for your printer. I usually give up long before you. I don't think I've ever centered the X on the red forms; if it's close enough to denote the type of forms, I'm happy and move on to more important things. This year, I might actually e-file. By the way, you can print all your W-2s on blank paper and not have to worry about the pre-printed red forms like the 1099 series. Relax. Someone will have a precise answer for you. Quote
Dan Posted December 12, 2008 Author Report Posted December 12, 2008 Do any of you preparers use the 1099 misc. and W-2 option and don't have problems when you print the forms? What are you doing in order to make the forms print correctly? I sure wish they had a way to move up or left below the zero mark. Quote
