Ocean26 Posted September 26, 2024 Report Posted September 26, 2024 ATX doesn't automatically limit the NOL deduction, which arose 2022, to 80% of taxable income (before NOL and QBI deductions). Although the total NOL used this year on the NOL Summary correctly calculates the amount to the 80% limitation, on Schedule 1, line 8a, the total NOL carried over appears, and it makes this year's taxable income $0. Should I manually adjust the NOL on Schedule 1, or is there a different way to handle this in the software? Quote
jklcpa Posted September 26, 2024 Report Posted September 26, 2024 That sounds like a programming error and you may have to open a ticket through ATX support. I try not to override unless there is no other option. Quote
jklcpa Posted October 2, 2024 Report Posted October 2, 2024 @Ocean26 if you were able to resolve this problem, would you mind sharing the solution? Quote
Bklyn1_241 Posted October 10, 2024 Report Posted October 10, 2024 I am experiencing a related issue. My issue is that the NOL to be used in the current year on the NOL summary does not seem to carry over automatically to Line 8a of Schedule 1 and I have to enter it manually. Why would this occur?
