mcb39 Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 I have been on a little adventure, believe it or not. I hadn't been feeling well for a while and one morning I told my husband that I thought I needed help. Well, ER led to 7 days in the hospital (so they tell me). I had viral bronchitis and then developed bacterial pneumonia and had myself a vacation of sorts. If anyone has noticed that I have not been nosing around, that is why, but I am now home and on the way to a full recovery. Turns out that I was sick for a very long time and I guess I knew it but I just thought that was the way life was. Well, let me tell you , I have not breathed so well in years and I am back. This was my first fullish day on the computer and I am pretty tired so will keep you posted. I am so Happy to be back and Life is Wonderful. Love to each and every one of you. I had my doubts there for a while, but I don't do well with meds and they sort of messed me up while they were curing me. 13 Quote
Lee B Posted July 30, 2024 Report Posted July 30, 2024 Welcome back Marilyn Yes, trying to work when you don't feel good is hard. I have been struggling with some health issues this month. So far I have missed working 9 days in July. Today, I just finished my payroll reports for the 2nd quarter Hopefully, I am on the way to recovery but it may take another month or two before I am close to normal. 1 1 Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 Marilyn, you sound like my husband! He had been coughing and wheezing and feeling awful for weeks. I finally convinced him to go to Urgent Care and pneumonia! He wasn't hospitalized and got worse so back to the ER 5 days later and a change in meds. He is much better now but really weak still. Denial is strong with folks who are so accustomed to pushing through. I'm so glad you both are on the mend! 2 1 Quote
jklcpa Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 Wow, Marilyn, that is quite a story. I am so glad you got the help and are healthy again. Margaret, the same for your husband as well. 3 Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 I had pneumonia once in my twenties and it is the sickest I have ever been! My sympathy goes out to you both and I am glad you are on the mend. Don't push too hard and take care of yourselves. 3 Quote
Catherine Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 Welcome back @mcb39 - may your strength return quickly. 3 Quote

I hope you take care of yourself because we sure NEED you on this board. I was SO sick as well, but I fought and fought to come back and breathe on my own; and I made it. You know I am not a young chick, but I might have an older body, but my mind is young as can be and we can tell ourselves that we will be OK. Life is just so beautiful! I am praying for you. 3 Quote
Abby Normal Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 Glad you're on the mend and were wise enough to seek help! Did you have the pneumonia vaccine? I've had both the shingles and pneumonia vaccines. I have breathing issues and had bad bronchitis a few years back. 1 1 Quote
mcb39 Posted July 31, 2024 Author Report Posted July 31, 2024 I did have the pneumonia vaccine twice and reacted badly to both. I have had breathing issues for four years, since I was ill for 12 days, four years ago; just before Covid was a word. My hospital Doc said that I have been ill for a long time and fighting it on my own . Breathing issues for four years and it finally tried to take me out.I fought so hard to get rid of the oxygen and breathe on my own. I am pretty stubborn. To tell you the truth, I wasn't sure I could do it, but I had already purchased my tax program and had a lot of unfinished work to do. They fixed me up just fine. 4 Quote

I have not idea who that might be; nor do I care. I am just so glad to be alive. Thank you for reaching out. 3 Quote
