Tax Bird Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Does anyone here have any experience with ATX's pay per rerturn option? I am considering it for this year and while I have spoken with people at ATX on it, I seem to get conflicting answers. My main question is "What is considered a 'return'?" Is it the one line in the Return Manager or does it count by efile submission? For example, is an extension considered a separate return or is it considered a part of the overall return? Any input is greatly appreciated! Quote

A line item contains only one "signature" return such as a form 1040, 1099's, 1120S, etc. However, forms attached to the return manager line item do not count against you such as an extension form attached with a client form 1040. In other words you pay to add each line on the return manager. As far as I know efile has nothing to do with the price and is included. You purchase blocks of returns from the ATX website which gives you a code number to enter into the software that authorizes you to add lines to the return manager. Quote
Tax Bird Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 Excellent! I was hoping this was the case. Thanks Old Jack! Quote
GLJEANNE Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Have they changed the pricing structure of PPR this year? Last year I started with 10 PPRs for $170, and added blocks of 5 if I need more later. But looking at the website, it looks like the initial price is now $300?? Tell me it ain't so! Quote
bstaxes Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 The $300 includes a license fee. If you already have one of ATX's program like office 1040 then you don't pay the license fee. This year without the fee is $190. I just finished purchasing it with Office 1040. Quote
