TaxMe Posted March 18, 2024 Report Posted March 18, 2024 Shame that after 10+ years ATX doesnt support these PTET elections forms. What everyone doing ? Any guidance ? Quote
Medlin Software, Dennis Posted March 18, 2024 Report Posted March 18, 2024 I have to paper file my personal return as the personal provider I use does not have the PTET form I need. No big deal. But, I think I remember here that there are pro preparer software which try to have all forms, and that the standard ATX (IIRC) sometimes does not have every possible form. Quote
Dang Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 We are just learning about the ATX not supporting any PTET credits on S Corp or Partnership returns. So, we will be forced to mail the state components of these returns. Not at all happy with ATX - and I have used them for decades. My loyalty is being tested here. Quote
Lee B Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 In my state you file the PTET forms online via the Dept of Revenue's website instead of using my tax software. Quote
Lion EA Posted February 19 Report Posted February 19 I've been hearing tax preparers extending S Corp and Partnership returns, efiling Federal only and extending CT and other states, and giving paper files to clients to mail. Extensions seem to be the most popular. CT offers the option of entering the combined biz form and the PTET form on the CT website. I am NOT going to type in a complex biz return online. I have one S Corp client that refuses extensions. Vehemently. And, due to biz travel, wants his returns, including the joint returns that need the state K-1s due to PTET by 2 March!! He's in HI or someplace for biz right now, and I dread emailing him this news. Quote

Many times the problem with things like this isn't the software or its vendor not providing the service or form. It is that the state hasn't integrated it into its e-file system or for some reason wants it done another way. Lee's post above is a good example. 1 Quote
