BulldogTom Posted February 10, 2024 Report Posted February 10, 2024 Taxpayer has 5 box 12 entries. The company gave him 2 W2s, the second only had the DD code on it. I entered both W2s but ATX says it will not transmit the 2nd one because there are no wages. I am not terribly worried, it is only a DD entry. Never encountered this before. Tom Longview, TX Quote
JimTaxes Posted February 10, 2024 Report Posted February 10, 2024 I never even enter the code DD ones.. never had a problem Quote
Medlin Software, Dennis Posted February 10, 2024 Report Posted February 10, 2024 DD never took hold. IIRC is not required for those with <250 employees. Not sure about 250 or more. Quote
TexTaxToo Posted February 10, 2024 Report Posted February 10, 2024 I don't think DD is needed. One way to enter it if all codes are needed is to reduce the Box 1 wages on the first W-2 by $1, and include the $1 on the second W-2. Quote
Lion EA Posted February 10, 2024 Report Posted February 10, 2024 In my software, I just keep adding Box 12 codes and amounts, as many as needed, on the main Form W-2 and e-file. The "second" W-2 might be a limitation at the payroll company and not a limitation from the IRS for e-filing. Quote
Abby Normal Posted February 10, 2024 Report Posted February 10, 2024 Just enter the ones that matter. And if you don't know which ones matter, you shouldn't be preparing taxes. 2 2 Quote
