cred65 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 After the rejection error is corrected do you resubmit the return through the normal process even though the deadline has passed? Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Since no one else has answered, I will take a shot but I am not an authority on this. It is my understanding that if it is an IRS rejection, you have at least two days to correct and resubmit. If it was rejected before submission to the IRS (ie, by ATX) I am not sure you have any extra time to be considered timely. I could be wrong. Quote
Lion EA Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 That's my understanding also. If IRS reject, you have something like a couple of days, five days, through the 20th, or something like that to resubmit. I would guess that a postmark by that date would qualify for timely filing following an IRS reject, but less sure on this. Basically, work fast. Quote
Julie Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 Here's the schedule. http://www.irs.gov/taxpros/providers/artic...=174255,00.html I had to spend an hour or so searching for this the other day....seems there's no pub that pulls it all together any more. The best I could do was this page: http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118663,00.html Quote
