Max W Posted September 21, 2023 Report Posted September 21, 2023 Usually the IRS income transcripts are posted by the end of May every year. One client who usually has a dozen pages of income transcripts every year has nothing posted so far for 2022. Another client usually has about 15 1099-NEC's posted, but so far nothing even though he has received his copies. He does have 5498's, 1098's and a 1099-MISC posted. Has anyone else run into this? Lee B Posted September 21, 2023 Report Posted September 21, 2023 "Use the table below to determine the general time frame when you can request a transcript for a current year Form 1040 return filed on or before the April due date. Availability varies based on the method you used to file your return and whether you have a refund or balance due. Note: If you made estimated tax payments and/or applied your over payment from a prior year tax return to your current year tax return, you can request a tax account transcript to confirm these payments or credits a few weeks after the beginning of the calendar year prior to filing your current year return. kathyc2 Posted September 22, 2023 Report Posted September 22, 2023 Not sure if this is the issue with your client, but 1099's that have an EIN instead of a SSN don't show up on the IRS info site. Quote
Max W Posted September 26, 2023 Author Report Posted September 26, 2023 I have been pulling transcripts for over 20 years, Income, Account and Return. Income, or Wage & Income, have always been available in the last week of May. Sometimes, things like K-1's don't show up until later in the year. This year is different. Some people's have transcripts of all their usual forms.; some only have part and one person doesn't have any. I have had Income transcripts with 1099-Misc with EIN's and with SSN's. I don't think we are talking about the same thing. BrewOne Posted September 26, 2023 Report Posted September 26, 2023 Seems to me to be anomalous--the IRS records are "reasonably complete" by August. But I recheck all of my clients (who've given me authority) in October to make sure something hasn't popped up. You cannot be absolutely certain until Jan 01 of the following year. BTW, if you see Code 922 on a transcript, it means they are going to get a CP2000 within 5 months. 1 Quote

None of the 1099's I receive from business clients using EIN have ever shown on my Wage and Income Transcript. Quote
Lion EA Posted September 26, 2023 Report Posted September 26, 2023 Remember when the IRS said they were moving employees to opening the mail in a timely manner? Now we know where they came from! Of course, some other function will suffer. 1 Quote

Lee B Posted September 26, 2023 Report Posted September 26, 2023 This year I have also discovered that the IRS AUR units that process a taxpayer's response to CP2000s are backed up at least 90 days. Quote

Max W Posted September 27, 2023 Author Report Posted September 27, 2023 Yesterday, I checked the client that had zero entries on their Income transcript and everything showed up, all twelve pages. 3 Quote
