how late can we send an efile?

I believe it's midnight for your local time. I would probably not push it quite that late - but sometimes the clients don't cooperate. I once got the signed 8453 at 11:57 and sent at 11:58. It went though as timely.

Not this year. It's 11:00 AM at your filing center. Just talked to ATX they told me is was IRS rule but I then talked to IRS and they will accept until midnight but only if your software will send on.

ProSystem fx also by CCH told me midnight my local time. I still have two more to complete, get signed, and transmit, so I might be testing out that limit. Hope it's correct, since one return is mine!

Just checked the ATX site. It does say 11:00, but if you look at the drain times, there is a drain at 6:00pm. If there is a 6pm drain, I don't see how it would be late. I am still waiting on 3 8879s, so hopefully they will be timely.
